Minutes of BELLEFIELD AREA CITIZENS ASSN. MEETING on November 5, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by president, Holly Dick. Those in attendance identified themselves.

 Holly made the following announcements:

  • The new CVS store is scheduled to open on November 25, 2013. No additional signage will be used.
  • The Ava Lounge is tentatively scheduled to open around Christmas.
  • William Hunt from Elmhurst Development gave a presentation about their new 100,000 sq. ft. office building at Ruskin & Bayard. It is a 7-story complex to be built on the current parking lot for the First Baptist Church. Construction will begin this winter, and it is estimated that a complete closed facade will take app. one year to construct. There will be parking for at least 80 cars, up to a maximum of 115 cars if needed.
  • Bob Reppe from Carnegie Mellon University gave a presentation about the new University Center addition that will house facilities for fitness, recreation and education. It is a 62,000 sq. ft. addition to the existing building. A Zoning Board of Adjustment hearing will occur on November 21, 2013, and a Planning Commission hearing will be held in early January 2014.


THE NEXT MEETING OF BACA WILL BE HELD TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3 @ 7:00 P.M. AT THE CLASS BUILDING, 4638 Centre Ave.

 

*THE former UCP/CLASS building where BACA meets will henceforth be known as the CLASS Building, as the organization has dropped its affiliation with United Cerebral Palsy.
